Product Description
The CP2110 adaptor is a (HID-)USB-to-UART bridge device. Like others USB-to-UART bridge device, the CP2110 adaptor connects to your UART hardware via the standard UART I/Os (Tx/Rx/RTS/CTS), and has an option to select either 5v or 3.3v as the I/O operating voltage. However, when the CP2110 adaptor is plugged into your host USB port, it will be initialized as a HID-USB device without the need of custom OS driver installed. This is the main difference and advantage of CP2110 adaptor over other common USB-to-UART bridge devices in that all the common USB-to-UART bridge devices require manufacturers' drivers of specific OSs to emulate Virtual Comm Port for the bridge device, while the CP2110 adaptor requires no OS driver as long as the system host USB support HID. This unique feature makes the CP2110 adaptor be able to use in those systems other than Windows, MacOS, and Linux x86 to provide USB-to-UART bridging service. Those systems include Chromebook, Raspberry Pi, Beaglebone, LinkITOne, Tessel2, ArduinoYun, and many others that supports host USB HID.The CP2110 adaptor is powered by SiLab's CP2110 HID-USB-To-UART-Bridge single chip, and it comes with an open access HID interface specification, and a HID-to-UART library for quick applicaton development supported in Windows and MacOS operating system. Here in Makerspot we also develop an open source terminal program using the HID-to-UART library for the CP2110 adaptor running in Windows OS environment.Features- (HID-)USB-to-UART bridging

The CP2110/4 HID USB-to-UART interface library provides a simple API to configure and operate CP2110 devices. The library provides an interface abstraction so that users can develop their application without writing any USB HID code. -
