How to Publish Your Posts using your Maker Spot site.
Click on Posts > Add New
1. If the Posts window is not expanded, you can drop it down by clicking the arrow.
2. To Add a New Post, Click "Add New".
Adding your post content
1. Add the Post Title in the First Field
2. The "slug" which is the link that will be used for your new post, can be changed by clicking the edit button. Otherwise, the name of the post will be used with hyphens in place of spaces
3. You can add/upload images or videos by using the "Add Media" button.
4. Using the TinyMCE edtor you can change styling, font weight, color and alignment.
5. You can Add/Edit your post content in the content field.
Using Exerpts
If you want to use a preview of your post as an excerpt, type it in this box and it will show with all your posts instead of the entire post.
Tags and Categories
1. Tags are useful to add extra, searchable keywords for your post. For example, you might have a post that is in the "Family" category, but has to do with your knitting and crafts. For this post, you might want to add those items as tags.
2. Categories are the main way to separate your posts. These have to do with what the subject of the post falls under. If you’re post has to do with something completely new, you can just "Add New Category".
Publish Your Post, or Save it as a draft
1. If you’re not through with your post just yet, you can save it for later by clicking "Save Draft".
2. If you would like to preview your post to look over it before you publish, click the "Preview" button.
3. When you’re satisfied with your changes, you can click "Publish". Your post will now show up on your blog.
After you publish, you can make any changes you like after your post has been published, just click on "Update Page" to save the changes.
Setting your post to publish at a later date
You don’t have to publish your post right now, you can set it to post in a few hours, or a few weeks. This is especially useful if you want to keep posting but won’t be at your computer, just set the date you want your post to publish and it will automatically publish on that date and time.
Note that the time is in 24 hour format.
